Maren Lavelle
As the co-owner of BCWW, a seasoned NYC dog walker, and a multi-certified positive reinforcement dog trainer, I am particularly well-equipped to work with dogs on their leash-walking skills and reactivity in urban environments. As a reactive dog-owner myself, I’ve built a wide array of tools and tactics to help fearful and overstimulated dogs learn to manage their emotions, and use their handlers as a resource for working through stressful situations. I utilize classical and operant conditioning methods to change your dog’s opinions of otherwise scary stimuli and engrain strong responses in them to cues that can be used to redirect or distract them away from whatever is holding their attention and resulting in poor walking behavior.

Joshua Latour
Joshua Latour (KPA CTP, SDC) is a pet-care industry veteran with over 15 years of experience. A Certified Training Partner with The Karen Pryor Academy, a certified Service Dog Coach™, and a Puppy Start Right Instructor™, with a certificate of Completion of the Aggression in Dogs Master Course developed by Michael Shikashio CDBC (world-renowned aggression expert). Joshua continues his required education for animal training in order to ascertain the most cutting edge practices based on scientific research. He’s also a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International and a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). Joshua specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis, the science-based methodology foundational to clicker training.
