PERSONALLY VETTED
Big City Woof Pet Professionals usually come to us through personal referrals! They are often referred to us by trusted friends and contacts in the dog and kitty communities, as well as by quality Big City Woof Walker dog walkers both past and present. They undergo multiple interviews with our professional hiring manager and complete a background check before being caught up on all safety policies and procedures by the owners, Dani and Maren. Once they have passed this initial portion of the interview process, they undergo our hands-on, rigorous “Dog Walker Orientation Program” with our experienced Team Leaders. After their on-the-ground portion of the Orientation Program, walkers discuss further safety protocols with Dani & Maren, and must pass a safety quiz prior to officially being onboarded. Candidates that successfully pass the “Dog Walker Orientation Program” are approved to become Big City Woof Pet Professionals!
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
We bring the best of the best on to our team, so a prerequisite of extensive pet care experience is necessary in order to get through the initial interview process. Part of our selection process includes vetting candidates with exemplary prior experience in pet care and dog walking. Many Big City Woof Pet Professionals have their own pups and kitties that they care for at home, but they want to spread that love and care to your pets, too!
THOROUGHLY prepared
Once they pass the initial interview phase, our candidates undergo a thorough hands-on orientation program on-the-ground with our Team Leaders. Our “Dog Walker Orientation Program” consists of several days of “shadowing” in which candidates follow a Team Leader on their daily walking schedule to observe proper Big City Woof walking conduct. After the shadow orientation days, they are able to take on the leashes themselves under the deft supervision of the Team Leader. They walk dogs of multiple breeds and sizes, learn and are tested on all leashes, collars, and harnesses, and practice proper leash handling for one, two, and no-more-than three dogs at a time. They then must pass one final test after their in-person orientation administered by owners Dani and Maren, before officially being approved for unsupervised pet care as a Big City Woof Pet Professional.
PERSONALIZED CARE
It is stressed in orientation that, along with safety as the number one priority, personable care for both the pet and client is what sets Big City Woof Pet Professionals apart from other dog walkers and cat sitters. With a personalized app experience and access to communication with your Pet Professional before, during, and after their visit with your pet, we ensure that you are kept updated with all of the important details regarding your pet’s walk or visit, and we make sure we can accommodate individualized requests for each client to ensure nothing is missed in regards to your pet care! Once our candidates graduate from our Dog Walker Orientation Program to become an approved Big City Woof Pet Professional, we know they will build strong and meaningful relationships with you and your pet.
